In the beginning of March was my son, Elijah’s third birthday. Due to a family emergency, we had to put off his party a few weeks. We finally got to have it a couple of weeks ago, and it was GREAT! We live in Brooklyn, and aren’t gajillionaires, so our space is limited, but we managed to have a lovely afternoon complete with homemade cupcakes, cannoli, pizza, veg, and Chinese food for my husband’s very traditional Hainanese grandmother. My cousin, Renee is a stellar, stellar, artist and designed a robot JUST for Elijah. Again, Elijah is soo lucky to have so many people in his life that love him! I made all of the decorations from supplies bought at Michael’s in Manhattan. The biodegradable paper plates and cups were from Ikea, the re-usable robot plates and cups were from Target, and the fruit box was actually a clementine box that I painted and wrapped with a ribbon.
When it came time to party, I was exhausted but happy with the results. Elijah was incredibly excited about his “wee-bot” party and “pizza pizza pizza!!!!” It really was a lot of fun.
